Assuming the latest layout of the'mechatronics', the assumptions I made with Tony about partial supercrystals (please get coloured copies from Ken!) and the information about triggertowers and TCCs from the presentation from Irakli (6/3/2003) (note that there is a mistake in drawing 6/21 sector 6 TCC subsector4 ). For the numbering of the data sectors please see under http://hepwww.rl.ac.uk/CMSecal/Installation.htm, 2002 YE1 Integration EDR talk, page 23 I arrive at the following numbers: sector 9: 31 full FEs + 2 FEs (3partial SCs) =33FEs sector 8: 29 full FEs + 3 FEs (6partial SCs) =32FEs sector 7: 32 full FEs + 2 FEs (2partial SCs) =34FEs sector 6: 31 full FEs + 2 FEs (5partial SCs) = 33FEs halfsector 5: 15 full FEs + 1 FEs (2partial SCs) =16FEs ************************************************************** DATA ribbons: The total number of FEs per sector corresponds exactly to the number of data pigtails. (Greg: the number of SCs does not determine the number of pigtails!) sector 9: #data yellow ribbons: 33/12=3 3 pigtails free sector 8: #data yellow ribbons: 32/12=3 4 pigtails free sector 7: #data yellow ribbons: 34/12=3 2 pigtails free sector 6: #data yellow ribbons: 33/12=3 3 pigtails free halfsector 5: #data yellow ribbons: 16/12=2 4 pigtails free SUM per Dee: 14 So there is some space free inside the ribbons (minimum 2 per sector) No spares ribbons yet counted! ************************************************************* TRIGGER ribbons: (assuming the trigger distribution of Irakli), which has several mistakes (ask Greg or me)! Each sector has 4 TCC subsectors, where TCC subsectors sometimes overcross data sectors. Each FE-card has 5 trigger pigtails. Due to missmatch of TCC subsectors and data sectors, some FEs deliver trigger data to different TCC subsectors or even to different sectors. I assume HERE that each triggertower has one pigtail (no averaging of channels in partial SCs assumed), which is the worst case concerning number of pigtails. Numbering of TCC subsectors are starting from inside to outside and is going in +phi direction. (e.g. sector9 TCC1 is the outer TCC subsector at the straight sector border (called by Greg 18 outer), sector 9 TCC2 is the inner TCC subsector at the straight sector border (called by Greg 18 inner), sector9 TCC3 is the outer TCC subsector next to TCC1 in +phi direction (called by Greg 17 outer), etc.. Greg's namings are now added! sector 9: TCC1: 41 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 18 outer sector 9: TCC2: 41 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 18 inner sector 9: TCC3: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 17 outer sector 9: TCC4: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 17 inner sector 8: TCC1: 41 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 16 outer sector 8: TCC2: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 16 inner sector 8: TCC3: 39 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 15 outer sector 8: TCC4: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 15 inner before: 39 was wrong sector 7: TCC1: 46 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 14 outer before: 38 was wrong, in Irakli's drawing it is 48! sector 7: TCC2: 42 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 14 inner in Irakli's drawing it is 40! sector 7: TCC3: 39 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 13 outer sector 7: TCC4: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 13 inner sector 6: TCC1: 41 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 12 outer sector 6: TCC2: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 12 inner sector 6: TCC3: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 11 outer sector 6: TCC4: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 11 inner before: 38 was wrong halfsector 5: TCC1: 41 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 10 outer halfsector 5: TCC2: 40 pigtails/12=4 ribbons trigger sector 10 inner was before 41 but 1 lost strip due to combination of the partial SCs at the inside and outside into one FE SUM per Dee: 72 There are in general some pigtails in the needed ribbons free for spare with exception of one TCC subsector. (14 outer) ************************************************************ CONTROL ribbons: Each data sector has 4 token rings, a half sector has 2 token rings. This means max 34 FEs inside 4 rings, max 9 FEs in a ring. sector 9, 8, 7, 6 eactly 4 yellow ribbons , half sector 5, 2 yellow ribbons. SUM per Dee: 18 No spares ribbons yet counted! ************************************************************ MEM data ribbons: Each double MEM box has 2x2 data pigtails, which will end up in 1 yellow ribbon per Dee (double MEM box). SUM per Dee: 1 No spares ribbons yet counted! *************************************************************** TOTAL SUM of yellow ribbons per Dee: 14+72+18+1=105 (in cabling mockup up to now: 120 (spares!) per Quadrant: 52/53 for both EEs: 420 (number to be ordered plus spares!) No spares ribbons yet counted! *************************************************************** Thank you very much, Wolfgang
