I'v put this shift as 2.6 cm : 2.6 cm is a difference between start of the first Scintillator position in HE nose (in closest to IP 10 degree sector) according to Surkov's number and its position in cmsim - 3921.5 mm (from A.Surkov) - 3895.1 mm (from cms124)) = 26.4 mm for cmsim in was impact point of geantino to HES1. so, I'v rounded it to 2.6 cm. A. Surkov told me that estimated shift calculated some time ago was 25 mm with accuracy 40-50 %, so our shift 2.6 cm is within this error. I'v corrected 1. ecal.tz 314.4 #. zpos - z-position of front of ECAL endcap 2. in EC_FFKEY_SUPP.F C FFECFP(2) = 317.2 C account for fileld ON shift 2.6 cm, so 317.2 - 2.6 = 314.6 FFECFP(2) = 314.6 3 .esfx.tz taking into account that gap between SF and EE is 0.2 cm (field OFF : end SF 316.8, start EE 317.0) *DO ESFX 3 -n49 #.Title for TDR endcap presh.description 314.4 #. ECAL_Z Z start of ECAL endcap 295.7 #. PRESH_Z Z start of endcap preshower 0.20 #. PRESH_ENCA_GAP gap between presh. and endcap ecal please, confirm as soon as possible, that it is the only corrections have to be done in ecal.tz, esfx.tz and .F. Sunanda, after Bruce and Dave confirm this, I'll ask you to take into account this shift in ETC2 (and inside it), otherwise SF will overlap with it. my present tz files are in ~anikiten/public/cmstest/titl/gtit/ecal.tz esfx.tz Cheers, Sasha.
