Minutes of meeting held
			  on 1st August 1997


present - DJAC, ALL, RMB, BWK, MS, PSF, KWB, Derek Imrie.

ALL  -	Mainly plumbing, for 2T magnet for VPT testing.
	Problems with digital locks for labs.

	Next week, purge pipes with dilute acid and get connected to
	demineralised water supply.

RMB  -	CMS, Steering Comm, Finance Board (trying to finalise funding 
	situation).
	Bilateral agreement with ETH, defining exact procedure for calorimetry
	work.
	Admin (staff appraisals, Kalmusfest)

	On leave for 2 weeks definite, possibly a 3rd.

BWK  -	New version of analysis program now working.
	Analysed scan data of 4 PWO xtals, compared with PSI data.
	Analysed scan data of glass towers.

	Next week, simulation work.

MS   -	Sorting out some problems on daq PC.

	Next week, install ADC card in PC.
	Do noise and LED (number of photons) calibration.
	Compare APD output with VPT output and check effect of reducing
	diameter of VPT photocathode.
	Rescan glass tower with glue joint.

PSF  -	Contact with Russians re: more Hafnium and data from PWO samples
	tested at ISIS.
	Analysis of PWO samples has produced trends but these not yet
	understood.
	Karen has a further 35 samples to be tested. 

	Next week, transmission of glass blocks and PWO samples.

Derek -	Brought meeting up-to date on the situation at Brunel.
	Has now produced write up for TDR, first version not to Russians
	liking, 2nd version now available.

KWB  -	CERN OPAL last week.
	OPAL this week.

	Next week, conference report.
	Then 3 weeks leave.

DJAC -	Meeting with Hans Hofer.
	Meeting with PPARC re: budgeting.
	Agenda for ECAL wk ENDCAP meetings.
	Prototyping work, make real super xtal, start using 3 x 3

	Next week, Technical Board.
	Display meeting, then back to RAL.
