			 held on 9th May 1997

present - DJAC, BWK, MS, PSF, RMB, ALL, Brian Smith.

BWK  -	Geometry in GEANT now running.
	Ready to run simulation over weekend.
	(Brian and Len should liaise with Bruce for cross checking of
	their results)

	Next week, at Photon 97 conference.

MS   -	Software, now two versions, AUTOSCAN for auto scanning of xtals
	and MANUSCAN for general purpose, single position or manual
	control of either vertical or horizontal or both scanning table
	motors.
	Still awaiting Martin Torbet to give the OK on his system before
	attempting to read it.
	Bits have arrived from RS for improved HT filtering on the VPT HT.

	Next week, scan glass blocks, using 19mm PMTs.
	VPT noise.
	Read APD signals from Martin Torbet box.

RMB  -	Two CMS actions, reply to question from Ian Corbett on CMS funding
	and PPESP document.

	Next week, Mon-Wed in Helsinki
	Thurs dry run for PPESP presentation.

ALL  -	APD irradiation tests continue.
	Locks for lab 7.
	HP scope, still no sign.
	Looking at mounting 19mm PMT for glass block tests.

	Next week, APD irradiation tests.
	19mm PMT.
	Appraise requirements for running magnet (ex Jim Hiddleston)
	and high field solenoid (now Technology people have retired).

PSF  -	Measured transmission of Pilkington radiation hard glass.
	Have polished end of glass blocks, so ready for testing.

	Next week, Sheffield to produce more glass blocks (have received
	0.5kg of hafnium from DESY, and 0.5 kg from DL, both from Russia.

Brian Smith  -	Have drawn endcap containing 300 super xtals, no attempt
		yet to minimise gaps.
		Problem producing ps output files, software to be ordered
		to improve this.

DJAC -	PPESP document.

	Next week, preparation for PPESP presentation.
