Minutes of Quick Calorimetery Meeting  21-11-97.


Present:  KWB, RMB, DJAC, DCI, ALL, MS.


DCI   Working on VPT section of TDR.
      Tested all 21 VPT's in Eddy Bateman's lab.
      Measured VPT's in magnetic field to 500 gauss at Brunel.


MS    Working to understand noise in Test beam, moved control box
      for stepper motors outside computer steel cupboard.
      9 PWO crystals due from CERN, to be tested in test beam with
      VPT's and APD's.


ALL   Magnet in R5.2 - Hold up in acid flushed pipe inspection by
      Brian Fail, now OK. Magnet plumbing has been pressure tested
      and final link to Demin cooling system to be done next week.
      Beam hodoscope - fibre optic coupler to multi anode PMT is
      complete, scintillator coupling plate is drilled waiting to
      glue in fibre optics. Will try and complete for next week but
      still a lot of work to do.
      Request to use test beam in 98 by Marcus Hohlman of Hera-B,
      sent beam specs.
      

RMB   Discussions with John Fry on costing and reviewed deliverables.
      Reading TDR chapters.
      Writing paper for management committee.
      Next Monday at CERN for visit of Minister for Science.
      Cs137 irradiation rig should be set up in R5.2 for irradiation
      of doped Russian samples.

KWB   Management course last week.
      Correcting TDR and PPARC/OST papers.
      Next week work on INTAS.


DJAC  This week working on TDR.
      At CERN all next week working on TDR.
