Minutes of the Meeting
		      held on 28th November 1997


present:  DI, KWB, BWK, MS, RMB, Eugene Devitsin, Adel Terkulov.

DI  -	VPT related work, TDR section finalised, new test box(more compact).
	Re-wiring and re-calibration of Brunel magnet.
	New VPT samples from Hamamatsu have improved photocathode area for
	same sized envelope.
	Peter Hobson has already looked at these newer Hamamatsu VPTs which
	have lower zero field gain.

BWK -	Work for TDR, resolution as function of fraction in tail for different
	xtal lengths, calculate leakage with 3 radiation length preshower.
	Work on figures for OST document.
	PPESP work.

	Next week, hermeticity of endcap and barrel.

MS  -	Test beam work, solved noise problem of motor drive  and APD, started
	testing prototype endcap xtals (checked with APD now moving to VPT)

	Next week, continue testing xtals.
	Help ED and AT with testing PWO samples.

RMB -	CMS management board (documentation could have been better presented)
	As result of Minister Battle's visit being cancelled had very
	productive discussion on endcap production schedule.
	In an attempt to keep cost done, it is proposed that even larger xtals
	should be used in the endcaps.
	OST document.
	Course on interviewing.
	TDR proof reading.

PSF -	At Sheffield last week producing samples to test effect of different
	batches of hafnium. (also some high cerium content samples for tests
	at DL x-ray source in couple of weeks)
	Measuring samples on spectrophotometer.

	Next week, annual report on glass work.
	Radiation source for low radiation damage test on PWO samples.

KWB -	TDR proof reading.
	INTAS, checking English before submission.

ED  -	Showed a glass block produced by compressing smaller samples under
	high pressure at just below melting point temperatures.
