Minutes of Quick Calorimetry Meeting  11-6-99.


Present:  RMB, PSF, BWK, ALL, MS.


ALL   Commissioning beam line magnet PC control system.
      Looked into cost of VPT anode current leakage monitoring for
      1.8T test rig. Adam units: need base unit and 4 digital output
      output modules, total cost #523. HV reed relays, still can
      only find 8kV ones at #30 each, as this is complete overkill
      expect to find cheaper ones.
      Next week continue commissioning magnet control system.


PSF   Working on irradiation of adhesives and analysing results.
      MRC have a 2000 Curie source which Paul has negociated to use.
      Some concern about temperature rise in quartz with high rates.
      Thesis proceeding, doing 2 hours per day.
     


RMB   Working through submissions to Grants committee and Selection
      panel. Preparing for CMS week and collaboration board meeting.


MS    Catching up with administrative work.
      Preparing for VPT lifetime measurements next week.


BWK   Interview of proposed sandwich student.
      Simulations, added trigger tower positons, looked with single
      photons at effect of towers 17,18,19. Increase in energy
      resolution spread worse at tower 18, this with no special
      supercrystals.
      Alan Ball meeting this afternoon ECal/Hcal. Will send
      simulations for TDR -3 and -6cm.
      Next week, CMS week.
