Quickcal 13 May 1999

					Minutes of the meeting
					held on 13th May 1999

Present:	ALL, PSF, MS, DJAC, RMB.

DJAC made some general comments,
Peter Litchfield(MINOS) has equipment they wish to evaluate in the
HEP
test beam at ISIS, as result we should change our emphasis and
concentrate for the next few months on getting the 1.8T
multi-channel
VPT test system up and running, returning to the test beam when them

5 x 5 test super crystal returns from CERN.
He then encouraged everyone who can, to get involved with the CERN
tests
	of the 5 x 5, which take place between 17th - 30th June.
Over the next two years the "Dee" labs will be being set up at CERN
and
we should get involved as much as possible and, where appropriate,
take
responsibility for this work at CERN.

MS -	thinking about the daq for the 1.8T system.

Next week, compose document for 1.8T system, to include jobs to be
done
	and possible solutions.

ALL -	Hardware for magnet control
	RA selection.

Next week, compose document for 1.8T system, to include jobs to be
done
	and possible solutions.

PSF -	JIF bid sent to Peter Hobson.
Resin measurements, question asked why not use existing RTV, as yet
no
	irradiation information on this product.
Irradiation tests, awaiting availability of Brunel source, ISIS due
to
restart next week so neutron irradiation can be done.
For existing RTV samples need preparing asap so that it has time to
set.
Sample preparation, now have good cleaning technique (Devcon90 +
water),
suitable for use in production situation.
Still have spectrophotometer base line problem.
JNCS paper, returned for correction still needs to be done, problem
is
that Refereee's corrections of two points give contrary meening
to
	that intended.
THESIS - should spend first two hours of each day on this.

	Next week, JNCS paper,
	resin samples,
	irradiation of samples
	Thesis.

RMB -	LHCB
	APRs
	Drafting documents

DJAC-	APRs
CERN, discussions - LV regulators for endcap, triggering solution in
upper level readout, super module + "dee" test beam requirements,
full "dee" powered when intest beam, H4 infrastructure, fibre
monitoring feed to supercrystals(25 fibres or 1 fibre and diffuser)
