Minutes of Quick Calorimetry Meeting  26-11-99.


Present:  KWB, RMB, PSF, BWK, ALL, CAXP, MS.


ALL   Mechanical design of VPT test rig, some LC work.
      Rest of week involved with PPD band 6 posts interviews.


BWK   Simulations using single pi zeros/jets looking at low
      energy tail to a fraction of %, needs high stats.
      Discussions with Len/John on fitting smaller shapes
      (2x2,3x3) along outer radius of 5x5's.
      Preparation for PPESP.
      Some preparation of paper for Opal.


KWB   Writing text for LHC computing JIF bid, 1st iteration.
      Working with MS on VPT accelerated ageing.
      Photonis Sn40 shows classic 15/20% droop with VPT close
      up to LED, (ALL was 1cm away from LED).
      Went back to ET VPT with wrapping all the way up to
      photocathode and close up to LED, classic 20% droop
      in 0.2days. Then stood off LED with no earth shield
      around VPT, showed droop with longer time constant.
      Discussion around this with no clear conclusion, more
      work required to understand.


CAXP  Finished Labview VPT test program.
      Working on University course work.


PSF   Working out test set up for Helium diffusion into VPT's.
      Rest of the week involved with PPD Band 6 posts interviews.


RMB   Management committee, preparation for finance board and
      common fund.
      Division heads.
      Working on VPT tendering exercise. RAL to discuss order
      for 500. ETH Zurich to place main order.

MS    Working on VPT ageing tests with KWB.
      Rest of week involved with PPD Band 6 posts interviews.
