Minutes of Quick Calorimetry Meeting 10-3-00. Present: DJAC, PSF, DCI, ALL, CAXP, IRT. ALL Magnet VPT test rig - all mechanical drawings into outside manufacturing for estimates, expect work complete by end March. All pulleys and belts on order, longest delivery is 14 days. Leakage current monitor box - HV reed relays are on order. Wrote safety arrangement summary for Bob Hatley on CMS and Linear collider. Linear collider work and meetings. BWK Simulation work with Charles, Higgs>4e. High statistics Barrel/Endcap simulations. Discussions with Len on TDR-6, using only complete supercrystals. Simulation with jets into Ecal/Hcal boundary . Energy reconstruction using Ecal/Hcal to see how well they perform, no low energy tails seen. Discussed additional shapes (4x5etc) for filling holes left at TDR-6. PSF Work with Joolz on VPT gluing tests and support rig for magnet VPT tests. Derived formula for determining required amount of glue for Crystal/VPT joint and imaged the resulting test joints . A schedule has been developed for gluing, loading is 0.5kg for 5 minutes. Russians requested glass report. Helium rig is ready, work on electronics for it next week. DJAC Crystal progress, hopefully 100 by April/May, 300 by end of the year. This should give us 15 supercrystals worth by end of the year and we should also have 500 VPTs. VPT tender exercise due back by end of March. This week engineering review with John Connolly and the engineers. Concentrate on EDR for November rather than PRR. Justin Greenhalgh takes over from John Connolly in May. Test beam meeting yesterday at RAL. Monday, Ecal technical board at CERN. IRT Last week CMS week, finalising tracker design. Simulation of Front end data acquisition software (FRED) in a few weeks. DCI Length of VPT wires will probably not be 100mm Kovar but 1cm Kovar going to copper, a reliable joint will be required. Testing 2 Hamamatsu tubes with getters. CAXP Simulation work, Higgs to 4e from 130 to 600GeV. Rutherford scattering rig, fitted new foil, looks OK now. Selected to give presentation at House of Commons on 10th April. Laurie Lintern 24-3-00.
