Quick VPT Test Rig meeting - minutes

  1. Current status of test rig: 10 5-way preamp cards now received from Bristol. Cards need connectors - MS and KWB will investigate best prices. 

  2. Long-term VPT storage: most cost-effective method of storage in an air-tight container (to avoid He damage) seems to be to use a domestic freezer (at room temp) with small modifications to allow nitrogen flushing.  Need to ensure that the nitrogen does not have a siginificant He content.

  3. Software: JHW still working with CRISTAL and local Access databases.

Apologies from Brunel:
1) Working on getting low-noise VPT box for 60-Co tests running. Noise is
still high, but rather lower (factor of 5) since last Friday when Dave
Cussans came over from Bristol to assist us.
2) Automated VPT system now working happily again once pre-amp replaced
3) Starting to use new spectrophotometer for glass faceplate tests
