Quick VPT Test Rig meeting -
minutes
Date of meeting: 14 November 2003
Present: BWK, ALL, MS, JHW
- Status of rig: Production running.
Overcurrent problems have gone away. MS has repaired a broken cathode wire in
channel F2 - this may have been the cause of the problems.
- Visual inspection: ALL finds badly-attached pins on
many (~30%) of tubes 6300-6400.
- Long-term test system: GPIB card has arrived (for
PC/scope communication) but cable is missing. JHW will chase suppliers.
- Brunel report (PRH by email): 60 tested VPTs
returned; 60 more needed.
- Safety: Radiation barriers are still in place.
The rig area has been surveyed, and the dose rate has not changed, so there is no
reason why the area should be barred. The radiation signs are also unsatisfactory.
- Long-term test system: Omar's LabView
software has been installed, but it needs a GPIB card to control the digital scope - cost
~ £360. JHW will procure. Suitable HT supply is in hand. ALL will make
a new single-VPT can.
