Quick VPT Test Rig meeting -
minutes
Date of meeting: 30 January 2004
Present: KWB, PSF, BWK, ALL, CL, MS
- Status of rig: Spare preamp cards
have been received from Bristol - the new cards have protection transistors
installed. 4 existing spares + 2 Bristol cards installed - the new cards
were found to increase the peak width by a factor 4, presumably because of the
extra circuitry. MS has removed the protection from one channel. A
test run will be carried out as soon as possible.
- Visual inspection rig: ALL has
completed inspection of the latest batch (6901-7300).
- PC upgrades: JHW
has successfully upgraded one PC to Windows XP. The standard PPD clone
has been installed. Parts for 4 more PCs have been ordered.
- Refurbishment of old row E: In
progress.
- VPT storage in R12: 2 fridges
now
currently under nitrogen. More are needed to store the current stock of VPTs.
- Safety: Interlock and warning lights
will be installed as soon as possible after getting the rig back into
production - JHW needs access for a short period to drill holes. When
the interlock system is fitted, PSF will carry out a safety inspection as one
of the requirements for CE marking.
