• We do not intend to standardise the desktop

  • Microsoft defines the look and feel!

• We will not recommend (or impose!) single solutions on HEP

  • this is against the spirit of ‘commodity’ computing

• Our role is to inform on NT activities

• We will recommend HEP standards where necessary

  • e.g. compilers.
