The deputy chairman of the group was announced to be Dave Kant of QMUL, who will take over as chairman in two years time.
There was a discussion on the possibility of negotiating HEP-wide licences. The astronomy community have negotiated community wide licences for two products (Matlab and IDE) with significant savings.
There was a discussion on the 'Form G' with a feeling that some of the questions are out-of-date - certainly as far as it being useful to estimate required system manager effort. It was stated that the grants committee does now accept bids for system management effort.
