5 ALPHAstations running Digital UNIX V4.0c, migrated from VMS in July ‘96. Usual mix of NIS, NFS, etc. etc.
~13 Macs, from low-end to G3. Used for desktop applications (e.g. MS Office) through to data acquisition (Labview) and analysis (IDL). All run MacOS, some interest in MkLinux
~10 PCs, from 486 to PII. Used for similar purposes (+CAD). All running Win’95
X11 to desktop via eXceed (PC), eXodus (Mac)
Thin-wire Ethernet at 10Mb/s, filtering with DecNIS. 100Mb/s switched Ethernet “on its way”, STP5 already in place
