27.1.04 The list of EE Patch Panel services below is
PROVISIONAL
However, all items must be specified by July 04.

Fibre Optic bulkhead fittings
From W Funk, 22.1.04 txt :
MF-B2 and MF-B3 fibre
optic bulkhead fittings, by Diamond,
proposed at the patch panel.
Yellow ribbons exiting Dee+double MEM, from W Funk, 26.9.03 txt
:
TOTAL SUM of yellow ribbons per Dee+double MEM: 14+72+18+1=105
(in cabling mockup up to now: 120
(spares!).
NOTE! One of these needed for the double MEM, thus does
NOT come to the EE patch panel!
Per Quadrant at the Patch Panels: 52 bulkhead fittings. Per Dee 104 bulkhead
fittings.
(8 spare yellow ribbons per Dee will be laid in the cable ducts (1 per
respective duct with yellow ribbons)
but these will be left flying and will be without their respective bulkhead
fittings)
For both EEs: 416 bulkhead fittings
Low Voltage bulkhead fittings
40 LV sets per Dee = 80 cables (supply+return).
Baseline, per set, is one 50mm2 Cu +2.5V supply and one 50mm2
return to/from the patch panel.
On the inside of the patch panel, a split to 2x16mm2 supplies (A, D)
and 2x16mm2 returns (A, D),
in case A and D eventually has to be supplied separately from the external power
supplies.
EB LV bulkhead fittings being designed by W Funk & W Lustermann
LVR control and sense
40 LV cable sets per Dee. 1
twisted pair sense to each of the 40 LV distribution boards.
=> 40 sense twisted pairs.
FE cards = 33+32+9+25+33+17 = 149/Dee
=> 149 Low Voltage Regulator cards per Dee
=> 149 LVR card inhibits (each a twisted pair) per Dee
=> 40 + 149 = 189 twisted pairs in total
Assume 12 cables per Dee each with 16 twisted pairs
=> 12 bulkhead fittings/Dee
High Voltage bulkhead fittings
Baseline, Lemo-Redel
multiway connector
with 51 pins = 24 core + 24 screen + 2 spare pins + 1 pin.
30.9.03 notes on provisional connector pin outs, K Bell et al txt
69 standard SCs/Q, requires 69 anode + 69 dynode lines
9 partial SCs/Q, requires 9 anode + 9 dynode lines
Total/Q 78 anode and 78 dynode lines = 3 *24 anodes + 3* 24 dynodes + an extra 6
anode lines + 6 dynode lines.
Total HV L-R multiway connectors, 6/Q + an extra 6 anode lines + 6 dynode
lines/Q.
How to deal with the extra 6's not yet defined
Per Dee, need a total of 13 multiway connectors of 51 pins each
The 13th connector needs to have 12 anode and 12 dynode lines
Observation - the HV multicore cable is split into 13 and 12 coaxes for laying
between EE and the intermediate patch panel
- the 13/12 could respectively contain the extra 12 anode and 12 dynode lines
Detector Slow Control (DCS) bulkhead fittings
Discussion on DCS integration + proposed PP
fittings, W Funk, G Dissertori, D Cockerill, 20.2.04 txt
Baseline:
3 different multi twisted pair cables for the 3 different DCS systems:
PTM
(Precision Temperature Monitoring) 21 twisted pairs/Q
HM (Humidity
Monitoring) 4 twisted pairs/Q
TSS (Temperature Safety
System) 9 twisted pairs/Q
Assume
the same number of types and sensors as in EB (1 Quadrant=1 SM).
Problems and questions: Is the number of sensors extrapolated from EB
correct?
Is the baseline humidity sensor radiation resistant up to EE radiation dose?
Ducts 9B/11A (other Dee rotationally symmetric)
1 bulkhead

1 bulkhead

1 bulkhead

Fibre optic monitoring bulkhead fittings
Duct 2B (9A other Dee)
One laser pipe of
9mm diam, per Dee, containing 6 fibres, to 6 separate bulkhead feedthroughs at
the patch panel.
Inside Dee, 4 used, 2 spare.
4 Level 2's/Dee, 20 level 1's per Dee
A level 1 diffuser serves up to 8 standard SCs (200
crystals).
Also through patch panel:
bias voltage for PN diodes, LV for ASIC using TP bus
: signals from ASICs
: clock/trigger/control from token
ring on Dee to external double MEM box
2 level 2 ASICs per Dee and 10 level 1 ASICs per Dee, each with 2 channels = 24

Note: bulkhead fitting should be same as for EB
6 of 2x10mm2 multiway (? diff. pairs) cables for token
